Description:
Calcium hypochlorite granules containing 65% available chlorine which is completely stabiliser-free.
 

Purpose:
To superchlorinate your pool water and to kill algae if the water has turned green.

Regular (fortnightly) superchlorination with Shock breaks down chloramines which are formed when chlorine links to nitrogen compounds introduced by bathers - these are responsible for so-called 'swimming pool smell'. Pools should also be shocked on first signs of water turning green as unstabilised chlorines such as Fi-Chem Shock are extremely effective at killing algae fast. As with Fi-CLOR Granules, the particle size is tightly controlled to assist quick dissolving.
 

 ACTIONS:
  • Highly concentrated and powerful - our 3kg packs give you approximately the same amount of chlorine as 20 litres of bleach.

     

  • Unstabilised, so instantly active; no effect on cyanuric acid levels.

     

  • Helps to raise pH and alkalinity - very beneficial in soft water areas.

     

  • Will not raise levels of total dissolved solids - no costly water replacement.

     

  • Does not lead to grout loss.
